PKL, a company with a fast growing business supplying the foodservice and healthcare sectors, has transitioned from its historical roots supplying "portacabin" kitchens to also supplying "immediate" medical facilities (such as temporary operating theatres) based on a range of standard proven layouts/units. The group presently makes 60% of its sales from the healthcare sector compared to just 30% two years ago and 2% three years ago. This has already helped profit rise from £1.8m in 2003 to the £6m forecast for the current year to 30 April.
