Some eight years ago when Alwin Thompson was part of the duo which founded Interlink, following the acquisition of two loss making bakeries, the business had sales under £3m. Helped by four deals last January, that  tripled the product range, sales should top £52m in the current year making Interlink the UK's fourth largest cake producer. Interim figures from Interlink in January were excellent with earnings up 42% and the second half beginning strongly. Even a directors  sale of shares last month has been insufficient to halt the share climb.
