Before Christmas, I spent a couple of hours meeting with Hogg Robinson (HRG; 117p), a specialist that helps manage business travel expenses. I was considering writing but was beaten to the punch with a bid for the business from American Express, which is obviously involved in corporate purchasing. Whilst I was naturally miffed, it was a light bulb moment.Travel is one business buying category but I have realised just how much consolidation is taking place across the whole gamut of companies that help corporates procure products and services. E-procurement software offers an obvious way for companies to cut costs and save money and this is creating a favourable climate for businesses like Proactis to prosper. It seems a really sweet ...
