The shares were weak in the light of a sell-off by hedge fund Elliott, which has reduced its holding to 37% from 43%. Perhaps Elliott is using the proceeds to help fund its bid for Waterstones bookstores?The sale comes despite a positive development where Sports Direct and Game are collaborating to open BELONG e -sports and GAME Retail concessions in some of Sports Direct's 500 stores. Sports Direct (which holds a 25.75% shareholding in GAME) will provide space allowing GAME to sell both physical gaming products and for players to meet and compete in tournaments.
