Digital Barriers - "Son of Detica"

One of the more interesting new issues this year is Digital Barriers (DGB;126.5p), a cash shell formed by Dr Tom Black, 50, former chief executive of Detica, a high tech security services specialist. Two of the other executive directors are also old Detica hands. Dealings started on 4 March following a placing of £20m new shares at 100p to value the company at £24.8m. At the latest 126.5p, clearly investors are hopeful that Digital Barriers will be "son of Detica." Established in 1971, Black took control of Detica in 1997 when he led a VC-backed management buyout.
