It wasn't just thoughts turning to the prospect of a very hot summer that got us looking at Managed Support Services (MSS; 8.13p), instead it is the fact that the company is now trading below the value of its cash. MSS' mainstay is the installation of permanent air conditioning equipment and to a lesser extent catering equipment and the shares have been a successful recommendation for us in the past. Old timers will instinctively shudder however when they recall that the business was previously known as Worthington Nichols. We tipped the shares in March‘06 at the time of its float at 50p and virtually hit the top of the market when we recommended selling at 187p just over one year later. Such happy memories!
