Itâ€™s remarkable that the US dollar is strengthening against other currencies given the serious economic problems that persist. It is showing remarkable strength against emerging market economies such as India even though the Indian economy is expected to show positive growth this year against the US, which in grave decline. In part, the dollar strength is explained by needy US investors selling overseas assets and repatriating funds. In the case of the Indian Rupee it recently fell to a record low of 52 against the US dollar, against 40 just a few months ago.
