Metnor (MTG; 408p) is one of those companies which has totally reinvented itself in the past three years - unusually with much of the same management team in place. Last year saw the disposal of the group's hot dip galvanising business and although the short-term effect of this might have been to create a gap in profit, just the opposite has happened with the group beginning to demonstrate strong growth from its newer property solutions business. With that final disposal, what remains of Metnor's old legacy business is Norstead, a mechanical and electrical contractor.
