Eros has announced a five year deal with Sony Entertainment Television, one of the leading channels in India, where it will provide Sony with exclusive satellite rights on a worldwide basis for a number of Bollywood films on its catalogue. The transaction covers only 10% of Eros’ catalogue including recent theatrical hits of Salaam-E-Ishq, Lage Raho Muuna Bhai and Eklavya but it was enough to send the shares to a new high. Following the deal, broker Evolution commented that “Eros is clearly on target to deliver annualised pretax growth >40% over the next couple of years.
