The shares moved higher after Tarsus released record results for 2005. Sales were £23.2m, up 58% (19% excluding acquisitions). Profit before tax doubled to £6m and earnings per share lifted to 9.2p, both in line with January’s upgrades. Despite acquisitions costing £8.3m during the year, net debt is only £8m and the business remains undergeared. In terms of flagship events, Tarsus continued to grow both its Off-Price and Labelexpo events in traditional markets with the results benefiting from the high levels of operating gearing normal to an exhibition business.
