SHL continues to deliver on the strategy outlined two years ago (see March ‘04 issue). Although sales only showed a disappointing rise of 4% to £68.2m, profit before tax was up 39% to £7.8m, for eps of 8.2p. SHL has two parts to its business. At the heart is its Product business which supplies occupational psychometric tests for ability and verbal reasoning, both paper and web based. These are tests that enable employers to objectively sift and select suitably qualified candidates for a post.
