Retail Decisions - Benefits from high oil prices

Results for the year to 31 December showed a record pretax profit (before exceptionals relating to the CyberSource's patent infringement dispute) of £7m, up 27%, and eps of 1.7p up 22% in line with the trading update. Overall sales were up by 10% to £31.7m on constant exchange rates and operating profit increased 24% to £7.4m. Operating margins lifted from 19.5% to 23.2% helped by operational gearing in both its businesses. For instance, the fuel card business grew sales by 9% to £14m but operating profit increased by 30% to £6.8m. There was a 6% rise in the number of drivers using the card to 206,000.
