Investors reacted surprisingly cautiously as Photo-Me showcased the world's first thermal digital minilab at the PMA Trade Show (the imaging industry's primary trade event). The unit which uses thermal paper is a 'dry process' (does not require chemicals) and therefore requires less maintenance. The breakthrough has commercial significance as the Thermal DKS units cost a quarter of the price of a DKS (wet) to manufacture and could increase the potential market size significantly.   Units are also easier to manufacture, suggesting output could rise significantly.  The Thermal units will be trialed in Q2 with a view to moving towards full-scale production in Q3.  Evolution expect Photo-Me to report a pretax profi ...
