Subscribers had all their Christmases come at once, as just 3 weeks after the last SCSW issue landed, which had a full write up on XP Power, Advanced Energy (Nasdaq: AEIS), a global leader in highly engineered, precision power conversion, made an unsolicited £19.50 cash bid valuing the business at £571m. XP has rejected the bid but the Denver buyer is certain to come back with a further offer, having initially offered 1700p, then 1850p. Await developments. AEIS has until 18 June to make a formal offer; another bidder (eg. TDK-Lambda or Cosel) may enter the fray. ...
