Re-echoing what has been said by ITV and Future in recent weeks, Reach has reported that its Q1 to end March showed improved digital revenue momentum on the previous quarter (-8.5% vs -15%). The comps get easier from now (as it laps the annualisation of the deprioritisation of news by Facebook in Q2) so I expect the next update to electrify the LFLs. We also have Euro football, Olympics and the election, which create advertising opportunities. Better than that, Reach’s higher value, data-driven revenue performed strongly, now 45% of digital revenues whilst a further cherry on top is Reach confirming it is confident in delivering the targeted 5-6% reduction in costs.
