The shares stormed ahead to 350p after Patisserie reported interims and described trading in H2 as “encouraging.” Sales were up 22% to £43.7m, pretax profit was up 45% to £7m for eps up 20% to 5.5p.Revenue from the core Patisserie Valerie chain (106 stores) was £28.9m, up 19%. Noteworthy initiatives were the introduction of afternoon tea and a revamped website including “build your own cake.” The store pipeline is in good shape for 20 new openings this year and will be self-funded with freecash of £6m this year. 10 opened in H1 and ROI on stores opened last year were “significantly higher” than the 50% target.
