Photo-Me has just trumpeted that recent trading has been exceptionally strong vindicating our recent recommendations. The core business, which accounts for 82% of total sales, is that of coin-operated photobooths in shopping centres and stores and Photo-Me has established an unassailable position in the UK, France and Japan. The most exciting prospect for this division isn’t that new generations of equipment are producing higher returns from the same locations but rather that inroads are being made into China where Photo-Me believes there is scope for 20,000 photobooths, equivalent in size to the other territories combined.
