First Derivatives’ results for the year to 28 February showed revenues up 44% to £36.74m and pretax profit up 15.1% to £6.5m. Earnings increased 23% to 33.2p. That means that in the years 2004-11, First Derivatives has managed to grow its sales by a compound 46% whilst pretax profit has grown at 45%. The latest year saw substantial progress on the software side helped by the acquisition of Cognotec and software sales grew by 104% to £12.5m (33% organic growth ex-Cognotec).
