Spice has confirmed that trading for the year to 30 April was in line with expectations, with pretax profit, before exceptionals relating to restructuring, of at least £32.3m. Spice has also now sold its non-core telecoms business for a good price: £32.8m. The sale represents an exit price of 6x operating profit so dilutes eps but enables Spice to reduce its net debt from £118.5m at the end of April to c.£87m. There is still the non-core gas business up for sale but that business has recently benefited from the retender of a previously loss-making contract (although remains lossmaking).
