Powerleague - Double the size of Goals Soccer Centres

This month  saw the float of Powerleague (PWR; 52p) which operates commercial 5-a-side football venues, following a placing by broker Evolution Securities. The shares were issued at 44p with 18.75m shares placed on behalf of selling shareholders and 31.8m shares for the company, raising £12.9m new money for expansion. At the placing price, Powerleague was valued at £36m. Powerleague is the largest operator of soccer venues with 26 centres comprising 282 pitches (a further four centres are being acquired from the receivers of competitor Vida currently) and is therefore already twice as large as Goals Soccer Centres, 113p.
