Synergy, the specialist provider of outsourced medical support services, reported a 20% increase in sales for the year to 28 March to £32.4m largely reflecting the start of new contracts and increases in volumes processed. Adjusted pretax profit was £4.2m, up from £2.6m, for eps of 12.5p. Synergy continues to see the benefits arising from its acquisition of Hays Clinical Support Services in 2002. At the time of its acquisition, HCSS had margins of 8% which was much lower than Synergy's 18%.
