Although interim results to 29 February (the quieter of the two halves) came in at £2m, half the £4m reported last year, Character said it expects results for the year to 30 August will "match or exceed last year." With the market failing to take notice, this was re-echoed again on 29 May when Character reported it had bought back 125,000 shares for cancellation.As it was, sales in the first half were only slightly ahead from £40m to £40.9m. Within this, turnover on the digital side rose 66% and now accounts for 40% of the group.
