When Bath-based Inspecs floated in 2020 its mainstay was  the design and manufacture of frames for corrective eyewear as well as sunglasses at its own factories in China and Vietnam to a worldwide customer base. What made the company unusual was that as well as producing private label frames, it had also licenced in several brands. At the float, Inspecs raised £26.5m at 195p in order to complete acquisitions and a year later, it went on a shopping spree.
