FDEV’s trading update saw FY23 sales a tad over consensus at £104m delivered through the existing portfolio of games including Jurassic World Evolution 2 and F1 Manager 2022. Operating profit before one-off amortisation adjustments was in-line at c.£2m, reflecting continued investment in new games under wraps as Frontier gears up to deliver >2 new game releases per financial year from now on alongside new content for existing games. As anticipated last month, The Foundry, its third party games label, has been shelved in order to increase operational focus on these own releases, giving rise to an amortisation charge of £13m.
