Since my last update, CML has completed the sale of its storage division and is returning £8m by way of a 50p special dividend. That leaves c.£23m cash with which to develop the ongoing business of mixed-signal, RF and microwave semiconductors. On a continuing basis to end March, sales were down 17% to £12.5m. Most investors will be aware that the comms division has historically focussed on voice chips for walkie-talkies (RF power amps, RF receiver/transmitter, vocoder and RF baseband modems) and a range of narrowband products for short range wireless applications such as RF identification and commercial vehicle remote keyless entry.
