The two challenger banks we have featured recently, Aldermore and Shawbrook, have both said that their mortgage lending operations have been the fastest growing bits of their loan book, accounting for 65% and 50% of profit respectively but another new entrant, OneSavings Bank (OSB; 315p), is about as “pure play” a mortgage lender as you’re going to get with 95% of its profits coming from residential and buy-to-let mortgages. There’s a case of déjà vu because as was the case with Aldermore in June, we think OSB will be promoted to the FTSE-250 in the next review in September, so grab it with both hands ahead of the trackers!OSB was formed out of the ashes of Kent Reliance Building Society, a 150 year old financial institution rescue ...
