Excellent results from Scapa. Sales went up 8% to £226.1m but pretax profit before exceptionals was up 17% to £14.9m. Eps were up 30% to 6.9p.The success driver was again Healthcare, which grew its sales and profit before central costs by 21% to £69.2m and £10.2m respectively. Margins went to a record 14.7% (compare to the margins in Advanced Medical Solutions -page 6). Scapa says that most of the growth is coming from outsourced contracts with blue chip customers and growing demand from existing products and new product launches, predominantly around skin friendly turn-key products resulting in it overtrading and moving to 24/7 production.   In terms of “old†Scapa, the industrial tapes side   pe ...
