Northbridge, the brainchild of chief executive Eric Hook, has achieved a remarkable transformation in the past few years. Many subscribers will know that I have been enthusiastic about the industrial equipment hire firm before. I first profiled the company in June'06, when the shares were 101p and again in June '08 at 164p. Back in '06, Northbridge was effectively a startup, having only just completed its first acquisition of Crestchic, a business selling and renting load banks (the electrical devices used to place a load on power supplies to enable engineers to test standby equipment that might be put into action in the event of mains failure).
