In the last few years under its current chief executive Robert Plumb, tiny HML (HMLH,15p) with a market cap just £5.6m has been quietly building up a business as a manager of private leasehold flats. Old timers will recall that in the early part of the decade Plumb ran Hercules Property Services, an insurer of residential blocks which later diversified as a property service conglomerate by adding property management and auctions. It eventually received a bid from an even bigger property conglomerate.
