Glisten has shocked the market by announcing that it has discovered accounting failures at Halo, the cereal bar business in Wales. The statement said that the accounting issue relates to the failure to take into account the higher material prices and operating costs. The effect of correcting these accounting failures in Halo will be to reduce  Group operating profits for the full year to around £5.8m (versus  £8m last year). The MD and FD of Halo have both been suspended. Year end debt is expected to be £26.5m, down £1m or so during H2 and debt is expected to continue to fall steadily throughout 2010.
