The chief executive of Northbridge Industrial Services (NBI; 164p), Eric Hook, 54, seems a very cautious character. When he formed the company in 2006, the intention was to build the company into a â€œÂ£100m turnover business in the medium-term.â€ We're not sure what Hook meant by â€œmedium-term,â€ with sales for the current year to 31 December forecast to be Â£13.4m. Perhaps it was the influence of his alma mater and former employer, the 82 year old chairman, Jaques Murray, of pumps business Andrew Sykes, which has influenced Hook to take his time .
