Education Development International - Earnings forecast lifted by 8%

Another in the same sector as Melorio (MLO; 77p) and therefore also insulated from the vagaries of the UK economy is Education Development International (EDI), which has reported an equally solid set of first half results to 31 March. These showed revenues up 39% to Â£9.6m (organic 17%) and adjusted pretax profit up 171% to Â£0.92m for eps of 1.6p.There were two significant changes to the business during the period. The first was the acquisition of a second awarding body, ASET, in November. The business has the same products and services as EDI but in different sectors.
