Shares in network equipment supremo BATM surged to a new high after the company reported at its AGM that it is confident revenues and operating profits for FY08 will be significantly higher than present market forecasts.BATM also stated that it has begun to look for opportunities to leverage its technologies in vertical markets outside the traditional telecoms area. To date, it has successfully trialled the application of its IP controllers for the efficient control of medical devices in the hospital environment and a positive contribution from this initiative is expected this year.
