Following the bid war for La Tasca which ended in May, making us a 50.4% gain in just over two years, we have been on the lookout for other attractive prospects in the restaurant sector. La Tasca hasn't been the only chain to have seen venture capital interest. Gondola - owner of Pizza Express, ASK and Zizzi - went for £559m in October and even the smaller, privately owned Strada pizza chain of 50 units has been sold for £140m. Two of the remaining fast growing quoted operators are Carluccio's (CARL; 228p now) and Clapham House (CPH; 395p).
