Generally speaking, nobody seemed to be in any rush to do anything, with the portfolio, as well as the two benchmarks, virtually unchanged on the month - perhaps it was the distraction of the World Cup or perhaps it was that most investors were in some sort of contentment and happy to hold the shares they have. Against that backdrop, it was pleasing to have price stability and there were two particularly good performers - Photo Me, the photobooth operator, received a preliminary approach from a Bahrani investment firm (now 565% gain) whilst Wilmington, the B2B publisher (a 100% gain), agreed an all-share merger with another Sharewatch favourite, Metal Bulletin.
