When a company is as highly acquisitive as Creston, results for any period will become virtually meaningless as acquisitions contribute for only part of any given year. The upside is that this phasing means that growth is already built in for this year even if no other deals are done. For instance, Creston has just reported that sales in the year to 31 March rose 22% to £36m which included a full year from PR agency Nelson Bostock, six months from CML, the market research company, whilst advertising group DLKW was included for just 3 weeks. Annualised sales are therefore probably closer to £70m. Pretax profit was up 68% to £3.5m and earnings per share lifted 19% to 10.7p. The changing business mix resulted in operating ...
