Telecom Plus had an excellent second half, adding a net 18,000 customers during the period (versus 26,000 in H1) and taking its total to 178,000. Statutory turnover, which includes a small element from operating the distributor network, was up 41% to £81.8m. Profit before tax was up 90% to £10.6m and earnings by 79% to 12.2p. Despite its name, Telecom Plus is a virtual multi-utility and provides a range of services (telephony, internet, gas and electricity) at a discount to the prices charged by incumbent operators.
