It feels like a time of more uncertainty than has been experienced for many years.  At least when the market was dropping like a stone you knew where you stood.  Through the 1980's and 1990's fundamental economic concerns ebbed and flowed, but the key economies and stockmarkets (except Japan) muddled through.  Right now there seems to be a much greater weight of concerns.
