The shares have gained 62% since I made them a main buy at 22.5p in May 24, helped by an unscheduled update that said it expects 2024 results to be “significantly ahead of expectations.” Pretax profit will be “not less than £14m,” a three-fold increase on FY23 (£4.6m). The swing factor was a better than expected net interest margin. Dealer loan pricing has been increased quicker than the interest paid on the retail deposit book used to fund them. It has also secured the previously reported £3m settlement against property seized during the RoyaleLife fiasco.
