An unexpected and disappointing update from Filtronic, which having previously won several contracts for its Massive MIMO antennae said that whilst H1 was ahead of the prior year, H2 demand will be substantially lower and it expects to report a loss for the year. The key customer, Nokia, has significantly lowered its forecast demand below that which it had previously guided, having itself been advised that its lead client T-Mobile is now looking to deploy different frequencies to those originally indicated.As a consequence Filtronic will write down capitalised development costs of £0.5m in its H1 results as it will not deliver the earlier hoped for sales and profits it had expected.
