The shares are up £1.50 on the month after CSR said it will discontinue development of its digital camera business (COACH), which has been sustaining losses. Five years ago we were all taking photos on cameras but we now use smart phones and tablets so this business, which came with the acquisition of Zoran, has been lossmaking for a while. CSR retains its imaging IP but it will now reduce its COACH headcount by 200 over H1'14. Other people involved in imaging will shift over into voice & music and Bluetooth Smart where there is good demand.
