EMIS has won a contract for up to six years with the NHS Information Centre to provide a data extraction service for its customer base of GP practices. The General Practice Extraction Service (GPES) is a centrally managed system that will extract patient data from GP records and collate it centrally to, for instance, facilitate better screening for serious illnesses, to monitor flu outbreaks and provide better insight into the uptake of medications.No changes to forecasts (Brewin Dolphin’s  eps forecast is 32p for the year starting 1 January) but the contract is a useful feather in the cap for EMIS.
