Just before the new year, West China made another acquisition, further strengthening its market position in Ankang in southern Shaanxi. The purchase, which had been outlined in its HK prospectus last August, shows that WCC has effectively paid RMB378m for an 80% interest in the Jianghua plant, which also has debt of RMB298m. The plant, which has an annual capacity of 1.1m tonnes, comes with sufficient limestone reserves to support its operations for many years. 2010 worked out very well for our (several) WCC recommendations.
