We met new Chief Executive, Alex McLeod following release of results for the year to 31 August. These showed the company produced 43,000 tonnes of glass fibre insulation in FY09 and generated sales of Â£38.1m, compared to 48,000 tonnes and Â£41.1m the year before.The period was marked by significant increases in raw material and energy prices and lower volumes, as well as selling prices coming under pressure but cost cuts meant margins remained strong at 19.7%, although down from last yearâ€™s 23%. Adjusted pretax profit, therefore, fell from Â£7.6m to Â£5.3m and eps reduced from 11.3p to 8.3p. But pretax profit is just part of the story.
