Spice - Plans to exit gas inspections business

Last month we included a main write up on Spice. When commenting on Spiceâ€™s two ancilliary businesses, involved in maintaining retail portfolios of stores and annual gas inspections for local authorities, we had said that â€œboth these areas did badly last year as a result of the recession and greater competition ...CEO Simon Rigby believes in tough love and these two businesses have little future at Spice.â€ Therefore, it wasnâ€™t too much of a surprise to us that within the results for H1 to 31 October, Spice announced it was going to knock the gas side on the head, resulting in a non-cash impairment charge of Â£43m.
