Clapham saw a temporary share price recovery in the light of newsthat private equity firm Capricorn Ventures, which owns the Nando'schicken chain, has acquired a 11.25% stake which is expected to be aprelude to a bid. Capricorn clearly knows Clapham’s management well, asit also took the Pizza Express chain private the first time round in2003. At the time, David Page and Paul Campbell, who are now chairmanand chief executive respectively of Clapham House, both also headed upthe pizza business. During the month, Clapham also reported that H1 to 30 September isin line with last month’s trading update. Revenues increased 37% to£28.1m and operating profit increased 58% to £1.5m.
