The shares have been strong after BATM announced a pilot with “one of the world’s largest providers of Network Equipment” for carrier grade communications equipment based on “ACTA” (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture), a series of specifications designed to take advantage of the latest high-speed internet technology. The pilot will take place this year with mass roll out expected in ‘08. ACTA is being selected by a number of major telecom equipment providers for their new product design and has the potential to replace both the installed bases of legacy platforms and large equipment providers’ proprietary platforms.
