European Home Retail has seen profit forecasts cut in the wake of results for the six months to 31 October. Turnover was up 28% to £101.6m due to full six month contributions from the acquired TV and internet business (16% organic). The H1 loss before tax was £0.6m after a £1.1m investment in the TV home shopping channel, eezee tv and an increased net finance charge of £0.6m. Net debt at the period end was £7.6m. The catalogue home shopping division performed well with an operating profit of £3.4m, a 17% rise which was driven by an increase in active distributors in the UK and Ireland to 13,504 (from 13,374) as well as by a 13% rise in average sales revenue per retailer to £813. ...
