Collins Stewart has issued its first note since the acquisition of Hercules Property and a change in the year end to December. The note highlights not only the £4.5m cost savings from eliminating duplicated overheads and various synergies which we were first to comment on in our October update, but also the possible disposal of properties that came with Hercules (estimated at £12m-£13m cash) plus a possible sale of the non core commercial auctioneering business (worth £4m-£6m). For the 9 month period just ended on 31 December, including just a few weeks from Hercules, Collins Stewart forecast sales of £65.2m and a pretax profit of £5.6m giving rise to eps of 17.4p.
