Synergy has announced its first results since its acquisition of Hays Clinical Support (HCS) in April. Results for the first half to 29 September featured the integration of HCS, a process now completed. Before a £0.1m exceptional charge relating to the reorganisation following the acquisition,  underlying profit doubled from £0.48m to £0.96m, with HCS contributing £0.44m. Sales rose 107% to £12.2m (18%organic). Earnings lifted 12% to 3.7p. Synergy floated on AIMin August 2001 by way of a placing at 128p to raise £8m net to fundthe capital requirements of new in-house sterilisation facilities,additional capacity and working capital for expansion.
